This is a minute-of-angle (M.O.A.) precision centerfire rifle match shot either from the bench or prone. You may stabilize your rifle using sand bags, a bipod or front rest.

The first shot of the match is a single cold-bore shot at a 7/8 inch diameter Tootsie Pop placed at an unknown random distance between 100 and 200 yards. You will then shoot targets which are 1 M.O.A. (minute-of-angle) in size, i.e. approximately 1 inch diameter at 100 yards, 2 inches at 200, and 3 inches at 300.

You will finish the match with a “know your limits” series of confidence shots on targets at 100 yards, which decrease in size from 2 inches to 3/8 inch. You may stop at any time and secure your final score, but if you miss one of these confidence shots you forfeit your entire score for this stage.

You will need a maximum of 16 rounds to complete the match. This event usually starts around 10:00am and runs for 1-2 hours. The cost is $10 per shooter. Eye and ear protection must be worn on the range at all times.

Please note as of 2016 the MOA Precision Rifle Match is no longer a regularly scheduled event. We will run the match occasionally if there are enough shooters interested in participating.
